Typically, concrete hand sawing is used for smaller cuts that wall and slab saws aren’t practical or necessary. There are several different types of concrete hand saws, some of these include:
- Electric, gas, and hydraulic cut-off saws: Typically, can cut 4-6 inches deep
- Gas and hydraulic ring saws: These allow for sawing between 10-16 inches deep
- Gas and hydraulic chain saws: Typically used to clean up corners from wall and slab sawing, they can also cut very small square openings through 20-inch-thick walls – or more!
- Hydraulic and electric handheld flush cut saws: Allowing for flush cuts against the wall, floor, or other obstruction
Concrete hand sawing is mostly used for small HVAC openings, crawl space access openings, and even cutting joints into sidewalks. A lot of the modern hand saws are portable and powerful, able to cut through a wide variety of different materials and used for numbers of reasons.
